Know if you've watered ENOUGH. A tool to help you understand how deep your water is going in your soil. After watering, push this 3 ft graduated steel probe into the soil to determine the depth the water is reaching. The probe will move easily in moist soil - and not move at all through dry soil. Test your soil in multiple places, one, two, and three days after watering.

Soil Probe

A tool to help you understand how your deep the water is going in your soil. After watering, push this 3 ft graduated steel probe into the soil to determine the depth the water is reaching.  The probe will move easily in moist soil -  and not move at all through dry soil.  Test your soil in multiple places, one, two, and three days after watering.  Make a record of the results and use this to help determine if your watering long enough for each watering cycle.  

Note: If caliche is present, the probe will not go through that layer.
