Q: Is the Bio Flora the best choice for citrus tree fertilization using your care plan? If not, what do you recommend? Thanks!
A: Laura - Bioflora is the perfect Organic fertilizer to use. Well it is actually OMRI certified - the fertilizer equivalent to organic. Plus it is a great price. Plus plus you can use it on all your outdoor plants. Careful tho if you have dogs - they do love to eat it. So if you have a dog bury the fertilizer and water it in.
Q: When should I apply crumbles?
A: We recommend ONE pound (about 2.5 cups) per inch of trunk diameter. Divide and bury in tree basin four times a year as follows: Valentine’s Day (mid-Feb), Tax Day (mid-Apr), Memorial Day (late May), and Labor Day (mid-Sep). Follow with deep watering.
Q: I will be out of town this weekend but would like to order bio flora . Is it possible to preorder and pick up somewhere later?
Depending on the time of the year, we do have custom pick up available. Please review the "availability". "Pre-order only" indicates we are expecting a shipment. "In Stock" indicates we have product available at this time. IF there is a date for pick up, then that is the expected availability date. HOWEVER, feel free to reach out to us in an email if you are looking for a particular delivery date. [email protected]
or [email protected]
Q: Is the 50 pound bag of bioflora crumbles fertilizer available now?
A: Yes we do have the BioFlora Crumbles available. Order away!
Q: I have about 100 sq ft of herbs and vegetables. I use tank's fertilizer, EM i, and fish immersion with kelp. Do I need this too?
A: We do recommend using an organic fertilizer like either Tanks or Bioflora four times a year. Tanks is a great product and easier to store between uses since they have the ziploc seal. Bioflora is more economical with it's larger quantities but can be stored in a container with a sealing lid.
Q: Can you ship ups to Showlow. Can’t get to valley
A: Sorry no we do not ship that product - it is too heavy. We do however ship this one - https://store.urbanfarm.org/supermix
Q: What is the Npk for the bio flora Veggi fertilizer?
A: 6-6-5 + 5% Ca. Nitrogen 6%, Phosporus 6%, Potassium 5% and Calcium 5%
Q: I planted 10 Green Giant evergreens and there struggling and browning. Which BioGrade products do you recommend? I was thinking Crumbles.
A: We recommend organic fertilizers like BioFlora Crumbles (local Pick Up Only) or Tanks SuperMix (pick up or shipping available). Pay attention to the weather as heat or wind can easily overstress and cause browning in our plants. Shade and or wind blocks might mitigate those stressors a little.
Q: Is there an expiration on this product? Should it be bought only as needed, or can we prepurchase some, for maybe a years worth?
A: Fertilizer will eventually off-gas some of it's nitrogen, but it does have a fairly long shelf life for everything else if stored in a closed bucket or small trashcan. As an estimate, one 50 lb bag should be enough for a dozen trees for one year if you are feeding the trees following the Urban Farm Tree Care Program.
Q: Can I get a more manageable size, say 20 or 30 lbs? If so, could I pick it up this weekend?
A: We do not carry the Bioflora in a smaller size, but we do have the Tank's Organic Fertilizer in 10 lb bags.
Q: Hi. Just heard about the bioflora crumble fertilizer from edge of nowhere farm. However it’s saying not available and there’s nonoooup for a waitlist. When will this product be available again? Can I purchase ahead of time and be contacted for pick up when it arrives?
A: We carry it though out the year. Yes you can preorder it and pick it up later in the year often we have it available for a pick up location on the west side
Q: Wondering why we want product that has calcium when that is not issue in Az . And still trying to figure out why product info says bag will feed 12 trees per year . The math makes no sense . Comparing now to offerings at Home Depot and summer winds
A: Calcium can be an issue (we deal with blossom end rot a lot here) the calcium in the bioflora is bioavailable. The 12 trees per year is somewhat dependent on how big the trees are. We suggest 1 pound per trunk inch diameter - so if you have a 3 inch diameter trunk you need three pounds per feeding or 12 pounds for the year. Looking at summer winds and HD - make sure you are getting a complete fertilizer that is OMRI certified
