We expanded our Starter Kit with more items that can help set up a Drip Tape System!  We've taken the standard Drip Tape Starter Kit and added more Poly to Drip Barbs and a repair coupler, 2 Sub-Zone on-off valves, an adapter to connect the PSI reducer to poly tube (either 5/8 or 1/2 inch), 5 goof plugs and our favorite punch tool to make the proper sized holes in the poly tubing.

Included in the standard kit:
  • 100 ft - Drip Tape
  • 1 - 10psi Pressure Reducer
  • 1 - Repair Coupling
  • 5 - Poly to Drip connectors aka "barbs". These 'barbs' are used to connect the drip tape lines to the poly tubing (see step 7 below).
Added on to make the DELUXE kit:
  • 5 additional - Poly to Drip barb connectors.
  • 1 additional - Repair Coupling
  • 2 - Sub-zone On/Off valves
  • 1 - Poly to PSI reducers - universal for either 5/8" or 1/2" poly tubing
  • 1 - Punch Tool
  • 5 - Goof Plugs

  • DELUXE Drip Tape Kit - for a more complete garden set up.
  • Additional Drip Tape in 100ft sections
  • End Caps
  • Chlorine Filter, In-line - comes with filter cartridge.

SUPPLIES NEEDED:

Pick up at your Local Hardware or Big Box Store:

  • 5/8 Poly tubing (measure from water supply up to and in garden bed)
  • 90’ elbows and T’s (as necessary to direct and split)
  • Timer (If not already installed)
  • Valve (if not already installed)
  • Quick connect (to allow removal and replacement of chlorine filter)
  • Optional:
    • Red Wire for securing
    • Caps for poly tube (*see below for simple alternative)

ORDER OF INSTALL - With Water Flow

  1. Water supply
  2. Chlorine Filter (A quick connect on both sides will help in changing the internal filter)
  3. Timer and Valve(s)
  4. 10 psi Pressure Reducer (MUST HAVE!)
  5. 5/8 Poly tubing to the garden bed(s)
  6. 5/8 Poly Tubing the short way across the bed(s)
  7. Single barb for each section of drip tape
  8. Drip Tape sections running long ways across the garden bed<

*SIMPLE METHOD OF CLOSING OFF ENDS (if you don't want to use one of our end caps.

With 5/8 Poly tubing
  1. Fold over approximately 2” of end of tubing at end
  2. Wrap closed with red wire

With Drip Tape

  1. Cut a 2" piece of drip tape
  2. Fold over the last ~2 inches of the open end of the drip tape line
  3. Fold again
  4. Slip the 2" piece over the folded end.
  5. Voila! You have an effective cap in seconds!
